Jeffrey Brown
Second Assistant Director, Cal Poly SLO
Jeff started playing clarinet in fourth grade, joined the Cal Poly Mustang Band in 2006 as a clarinetist, served as Drum Major for five years, and now serves as Second Assistant Director of the Cal Poly Mustang Marching Band in San Luis Obispo, CA. He studied business and computer science at Cal Poly, earned an MBA, and works as a software engineer.
Cue Band grew out of the fast-paced moments where every second matters. Jeff created it to take the mental timing math off his plate so he could focus less on the clock and more on the band. Lyre grew from the same goal: reducing friction during rehearsals and performances. When directors can call up a chart last minute and members can get to the right music quickly, the band moves faster and the whole performance flows better.
